Ideals
Everyone has his ideals. A businessman wishes to make greater profit; a farmer expects plumper harvests; a student tries to learn more and better.
However, one should be sensible about whether his ideal is well founded or not. If it is, one has to plan and work hard for its realization. Effort, skill and persistence are all necessary. And very often, one has to get help from others, including advice and support in one form or another.
My ideal is to become a doctor. It is said that the field of medicine is a well-paid profession, but I take it as a lofty profession entrusted with saving people’s lives. To realize my ideal I have concentrated on laboratory work to develop the analytical skills necessary to become a qualified doctor. I believe that I will realize this ideal one day.

My Views on Examination
Nowadays the examination is used as a chief means of deciding whether a student succeeds or fails in mastering a particular subject in most colleges and universities. Although it is efficient, its side effects are also enormous.
On the one hand, examinations lower the standards of teaching. Since teachers are often judged by examination results, they are reduced to training their students in exam techniques. No subjects can be taught successfully if treating exam as a gole . On the other hand, the most undesirable effect is that examinations encourage bad study habits. A examination is not the only criterion for driving the students to memorize mechanically, but to think creatively instead.
In fact, few of us admit that examinations can contribute anything really important to the students’ academic development. If that is the case, why cannot we make a change and devise something more efficient and reliable than examinations?

Due to their heavy schedules, students are often buried in textbooks and seldom expose themselves to a colorful life. 2014年12月英语四级作文点评：开放自由不易跑题，语言质量要求高
第一，四级写作再现“反押题”的倾向。
之前我们可能会去了解了宏观的大话题，比如社会生活、两代关系、文化教育、网络科技、伦理道德等等这样的话题，这次的考试题目跟这些所谓的预测和同学们之前的准备出入还是很大的。近来关于大学生中的一门课、一个同学、一项校园活动，这些我们觉得都过于平常，过于普通，跟大学生的思想深度好象没有什么关系，但是我们确实考到了。
我们想一下2014年6月份考的是一个朋友来你的家乡、校园旅游的话，你会带他去哪里玩，并且写出理由。好象是一篇记叙文，又是一篇议论文，这种题目我们之前也是无法预测，或者我们根本不屑于准备，是我们看不上的题目。6月份考了，今年12月份又考的是这样的题目——一门课、一个同学、一项活动，所以这是最新的四级写作方面的命题趋势，那就是反押题。我们之前的预测方向和这些有一些出入。
第二，主题比较开放、自由
我们说的现在的四级作文题目，我们在这个点上，我们可以延伸到六级，还有考研英语写作的命题，那就是主题比较开放、自由，非常自由的主题，基本上不存在跑题的问题。有的人说我作文题目没有读懂，有的说我题目读懂了，但是没有写对方向，这样的情况已经基本上不会发生，它可以推广到六级和考研英语写作，其实都有这样的特点。
我们今天在微博上和的互动平台上，看到一些奇葩的评论和互动。有的同学说我的考试题目是《A classmate of yours who has influenced you most in college》“一个影响我最多的同学”，结果这个同学写完发现写的是一个影响我最多的老师，我们觉得这也不算跑题，应该是审题不够仔细，考场过于紧张，可能是考前缺乏听课的训练和素质提升，也没有进行模考，可能紧张了，但是这样的题目会扣分的，明明让你写一位影响最深的同学，你写了影响最深的老师，这个我们可以根据未完成题目指令的要求这一项来进行扣分。我想这方面的错不知道大家有没有去犯？如果没有的话自然是最好的。所以我们现在的题目普遍来说比较简单。
第三，更加注重考生的语言质量
我们结合6月份和12月份的考试得出第三条的结论是作文更加注重同学的语言质量。因为我们已经不存在说题目读不懂，看不明白，大家都是一样的.主题，那就代表着大家都有话好说。所以在这个层面上如果不拼你的审题能力和对话题预测准备能力的话，应该考的是同学的语言质量问题。
这么简单的一个主题，好像你会说的很多，又好象什么也不会说；好象你能写的很多，但是语言普通简单也不行。所以现在我们说现在四级作文第三个趋势是重在语言质量。同学们比拼的是驾驭英语语言本身的能力，对词汇、语法、固定句型套用的熟练程度和精彩程度。
第四，题目记叙、描述与议论并重
之前四级、六级，甚至包括我们说的考研考试当中，我们其实更多的是重在考生的思考问题、发表评论、写议论文的能力。这些题目的论据和表达都比较固定、官方、正式，比如我们说推进经济建设、提高学生的心态素质、推进中国传统文化的弘扬还有网络话题，好象都比较正式，甚至我们说的极端一点，有点“假大空”的感觉，但是这样的话题涉及的面比较广、话题比较正式，但是考前好准备。同学们只要稍微背一背，什么“随着现代生活社会的步伐加快”、“随着人们变得越来越富有”、“随着国家提供的便利措施”等等，好象你背一下都有了，但是现在的作文考的是你真正的语言描述和记叙的能力。
2014年12月英语四级作文点评：如何写出高分
作文题目一：“大学中印象最深的一门课”
第一个，这门课的内容要写出来，比如印象最深的课是英语课，或者印象最深的课“如何做公众演说”，你得把这个课程的内容描述出来，把它的第一点、第二点、第三点，甚至上课的形式，这就是描述。
最后你要做一个论述，说这门课对我产生的影响，以及未来我怎么对待它，这些都需要写。
作文题目二：“大学中影响你最深的一位同学”
这位同学影响你最深，你不能说他对我影响很深，确实他对我产生很深的影响，他对我很重要，这样车轱辘的话反复说是不得分的，是没有意义的。
要点：要把这位同学他影响你的事迹、经历，令你振奋的故事描述和记叙出来。特别像六级考试考的是举例论证。特别像六级考试当中的举例论证，可能考的又是这样的题目。比如说给你一个什么样的观点，Please set some examples to illustrate your point，请你举一些例子来证明你的观点，六级考试是举例的，考例子，要描述的。现在的四级没有说一定要举例子，但是以题目的方式隐性要求你必须写故事、写例子。
比如我们看一下今天公布的范文说影响最深的一位同学，我们对它的描述是有个同学，刚刚开学的时候我们没有什么印象，但是他后来经常迟到印象很深，后来了解是他是跟久病卧床的妈妈一起上学的，为了照顾久病的妈妈所以经常迟到，但是他为了不仅解决了生活和学业的负担，优秀毕业，获得了奖学金。这件事情给我的影响是我们要如何面对压力、我们要有坚持和毅力，包括强大的意志面对生活中的不幸和磨难，这位同学对我的影响是非常深刻的。所以你把这个故事写完以后做一些评论，说他对我的影响是什么。最后还可以说一下我们以后要选择什么样的朋友，这位朋友给了我很深刻的影响，他给我的启发是以后我们要选择真正对我们有影响，有帮助，给我们正能量的朋友。第二段进行描述、记叙，第三段议论。
作文题目三：《A campus activity that has benefited most》——一项对你影响最深刻的校园活动。
第三个题目我们新东方国内考试部有一位教六级的作文老师叫刘杨老师，他写的一篇范文是他有一项活动叫“辩论赛”，他参加了这项活动以后，增加了自信、增加了口才、结交了朋友，这项活动对他影响非常深刻。
你在第二段需要描述一下这个活动的内容；在第三段需要写一下未来你会怎么样让这些类似的大学活动，使你的大学生活变得更加有意义，使你个人变得更加有竞争力。
总结：
1、 这三道题目都是第一段引入话题；
2、 第二段进行故事内容的描述和记叙；
3、 第三段进行内容的提炼、升华和议论。
